Our international bedding designer Anne, shares her knowledge and insight about the colour trends for the upcoming 2023 seasons.

Colour is instrumental in telling the M.M Linen story each season. As a brand, we are inspired by nature and its beautiful colours for our plains and core, as well as bold and subtle botanicals for our printed duvet sets, bedspreads, cushions, homewares and accessories.

The current home colour trend direction of warmth and optimism include colours that express the earths textures and terrains. Tones of clay, chalk and naturally inspired pigment tones are key to linking us with nature, featured in our natural and earthy colours of our Laundered Linen collection of bedding.

Warm and inviting tones of sunset are portrayed through warm oranges, umbers, rust and golden yellows which our velvet, textured Terrace Bedspread Set in Biscuit encapsulates. Then onto rich hues of dusky peach, rouge, berry and plum tones, evident in our cotton velvet Sabel cushions.

Greens are a key direction, the colours of nature that are predominant throughout the M.M Linen collection, remind us of our relationship with nature and our ongoing responsibilities to play our part and protect our precious earth as a Carbon Neutral business. Greens of all tones, fresh and inviting seafoams and mint tones, see our Sabel Seagrass cushion,
as well as sage and olive greens through to elegant, deeper reminders of the forest, are all key in connecting our interiors to the landscape that surrounds us.

Working with the core palette of nature that supports the amazingly deep, vibrant and opulent colours portrayed in the printed designs allows the rich, layered silhouette that has become the signature of M.M
Linen style.

The SS23/24 M.M Linen colour palette of nature includes gentle foliage and calming greens, tranquil and deep ocean blues, sunset corals and golds and of course on trend grounded, earthy, tactile neutrals. All these colours link the M.M Linen collection to the environment that surrounds and inspires us in New Zealand.

Using the options and pieces included within the collection you can realise a Maximalist story with a mixture of printed patterns and layered plains. Alternatively, you can create a cosy, homely sanctuary with staples like the relaxed laundered linen, combined with other textured plains.
